Το Αμερικανικό Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου (AUCY) φιλοξένησε το πρώτο AUCY Day σε μία από τις πιο ζωντανές πανεπιστημιακές εκδηλώσεις που πραγματοποιήθηκαν φέτος στην Κύπρο

Το Αμερικανικό Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου (AUCY) φιλοξένησε το πρώτο AUCY Day στις 15 Μαΐου 2026, στις Φοινικούδες , με 2.500 παρευρισκόμενους σε μία από τις πιο ζωντανές πανεπιστημιακές εκδηλώσεις που πραγματοποιήθηκαν φέτος στην Κύπρο.
Η εκδήλωση διοργανώθηκε στο πλαίσιο των εορτασμών για την Ημέρα ίδρυσης του Πανεπιστημίου και συγκέντρωσε φοιτητές, οικογένειες, διεθνείς κοινότητες, κοινό , καλλιτέχνες, performers και επίσημους προσκεκλημένους σε μια πολυπολιτισμική γιορτή μουσικής, ψυχαγωγίας, ενότητας και κοινοτικού πνεύματος.
Το AUCY Day 2026 τίμησαν με την παρουσία τους διακεκριμένοι προσκεκλημένοι, μεταξύ των οποίων ο Δήμαρχος Λάρνακας κ. Ανδρέας Βύρας, ο Πρόεδρος του Επαρχιακού Οργανισμού Λάρνακας κ. Άγγελος Χατζηχαραλάμπους, καθώς και μέλη του Διοικητικού Συμβουλίου του AUCY, οι Dr. Marc Antoine Zabbal, Dr. Tarek Sadek, κ. Χρίστος Καράς, κ. Joe Ibrahim και κ. Farid Haikal.
Η εκδήλωση ξεκίνησε το απόγευμα με ζωντανή μετάδοση του Mix FM απευθείας από τον χώρο, δημιουργώντας ενθουσιασμό και δυναμική πριν από την επίσημη έναρξη. Αργότερα, ο Mix FM τιμήθηκε επί σκηνής από τον Dr. Marc Antoine Zabbal σε αναγνώριση της στήριξης και της συνεργασίας του σταθμού για την εκδήλωση.
Το ψυχαγωγικό πρόγραμμα ξεκίνησε επίσημα με live performance από τον DJ Doros, ακολουθούμενο από τελετή βραβεύσεων που παρουσίασε ο κ. Joe Ibrahim. Λίγο αργότερα, ο Dr. Marc Antoine Zabbal απηύθυνε τον επίσημο χαιρετισμό του AUCY Day 2026, καλωσορίζοντας επισκέπτες, φοιτητές, οικογένειες και το κοινό στους εορτασμούς της Ημέρας Ιδρυτή του Πανεπιστημίου.
Κατά τη διάρκεια της βραδιάς, ο Peter Kypri, γνωστός ως “The Cypriot Smurf”, τιμήθηκε επί σκηνής από τον Dr. Marc Antoine Zabbal, πριν το κοινό απολαύσει ζωντανή εμφάνιση του καλλιτέχνη Γιώργου Βασιλείου. Μετά την εμφάνισή του, ο Γιώργος Βασιλείου τιμήθηκε από τον κ. Farid Haikal για τη συμμετοχή και τη συμβολή του στην επιτυχία της εκδήλωσης.
Η ατμόσφαιρα κορυφώθηκε με το εντυπωσιακό Justice Show Fire Show, δημιουργώντας μία από τις πιο δυναμικές στιγμές της βραδιάς, πριν ανέβει στη σκηνή ο διεθνώς αναγνωρισμένος καλλιτέχνης Mente Fuerte μπροστά σε ένα τεράστιο πλήθος παρευρισκομένων. Μετά την εμφάνισή του, ο Mente Fuerte τιμήθηκε από τον κ. Χρίστο Καρά.
Οι επίσημες βραβεύσεις συνεχίστηκαν καθ’ όλη τη διάρκεια της βραδιάς, με τον Δήμαρχο Λάρνακας κ. Ανδρέα Βύρα να τιμάται από μέλη του Διοικητικού Συμβουλίου του AUCY, ενώ ακολούθησε και η βράβευση του Προέδρου του Επαρχιακού Οργανισμού Λάρνακας κ. Άγγελου Χατζηχαραλάμπους.
Ο δημοφιλής content creator και performer OnlySkillz τιμήθηκε επίσης κατά τη διάρκεια της εκδήλωσης από τον κ. Χρίστο Καρά, πριν η καλλιτέχνιδα Sasa Basta παρουσιάσει ένα δυναμικό live performance που απογείωσε ακόμη περισσότερο το κλίμα της βραδιάς. Η Sasa Basta τιμήθηκε αργότερα επί σκηνής από τον κ. Joe Ibrahim.
Στη συνέχεια, ο DJ Doros επέστρεψε στη σκηνή, διατηρώντας τον παλμό και τη ζωντανή ατμόσφαιρα της εκδήλωσης, πριν ο διεθνώς αναγνωρισμένος καλλιτέχνης Hovig πραγματοποιήσει μία από τις πιο πολυαναμενόμενες εμφανίσεις της βραδιάς. Μετά την εμφάνισή του, ο Hovig τιμήθηκε από τον κ. Farid Haikal.
Η γιορτή συνεχίστηκε μετά τα μεσάνυχτα με ακόμη μία εντυπωσιακή εμφάνιση της Justice Show Dance Team, ακολουθούμενη από live εμφάνιση και performance του George Nakhel, ο οποίος τιμήθηκε αργότερα από τον Dr. Tarek Sadek, πριν η εκδήλωση ολοκληρωθεί με ένα τελευταίο DJ set από τον DJ Doros που κράτησε το κοινό ενεργό μέχρι το τέλος της βραδιάς.
Την παρουσίαση της εκδήλωσης ανέλαβε η κα. Άντρια Ιωάννου, η οποία καθοδήγησε το κοινό σε μια βραδιά γεμάτη ασταμάτητη ψυχαγωγία και αξέχαστες στιγμές.
Το Αμερικανικό Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου εκφράζει τις ειλικρινείς του ευχαριστίες προς τον Δήμο Λάρνακας για την πολύτιμη στήριξη και συμβολή του στην επιτυχία της εκδήλωσης. Το Πανεπιστήμιο ευχαριστεί επίσης τους κύριους χορηγούς του, Mix FM και Alpha Bank Cyprus, καθώς και τις Formula Rent a Car, EU Kouzin και City of Larnaka News για τη συνεργασία και τη συμβολή τους.
Η εκδήλωση καλύφθηκε και από το Alpha TV, γεγονός που ανέδειξε περαιτέρω τη συνεχώς αυξανόμενη απήχηση και αναγνώριση του AUCY Day ως ενός σημαντικού πολιτιστικού και νεανικού θεσμού στην Κύπρο.
Καθ’ όλη τη διάρκεια της βραδιάς, οι παρευρισκόμενοι βίωσαν μια μοναδική ατμόσφαιρα που αντικατόπτριζε την ταυτότητα του American University of Cyprus: πολυπολιτισμικό, νεανικό, συμπεριληπτικό, δυναμικό και προσανατολισμένο στην κοινότητα.
Ο συνδυασμός διεθνών και τοπικών καλλιτεχνών, η μαζική προσέλευση του κοινού και η ζωντανή ατμόσφαιρα μετέτρεψαν το Δημοτικό Αμφιθέατρο σε μια μεγάλη γιορτή πολιτισμού, νεολαίας και ψυχαγωγίας.
Η εκδήλωση κατάφερε να ενισχύσει τη σύνδεση του Πανεπιστημίου με την ευρύτερη κοινωνία, αναδεικνύοντας παράλληλα τη διαφορετικότητα και το πνεύμα της κοινότητας του AUCY.
Μετά τη μεγάλη επιτυχία της φετινής διοργάνωσης, το AUCY Day αναμένεται να καθιερωθεί ως ετήσιος θεσμός και ένα από τα σημαντικότερα πανεπιστημιακά φεστιβάλ της Κύπρου, ενισχύοντας τη δέσμευση του Πανεπιστημίου στον πολιτισμό, τη νεανική συμμετοχή, τη δημιουργικότητα και την κοινωνική προσφορά.
*THE AMERICAN UNIVERSITY OF CYPRUS CELEBRATES A HISTORIC AUCY DAY 2026 WITH MORE THAN 2,500 ATTENDEES IN LARNACA*
The American University of Cyprus (AUCY) hosted its first AUCY Day on May 15, 2026, at the Municipal Amphitheater in Finikoudes, Larnaca, welcoming more than 2,500 attendees in what became one of the most vibrant university celebrations held in Cyprus this year.
Organized as part of the University’s Founder’s Day celebrations, AUCY Day 2026 brought together students, families, international communities, members of the public, artists, performers, and distinguished guests in a multicultural celebration of music, entertainment, unity, and community spirit.
AUCY Day 2026 was attended by distinguished guests including the Mayor of Larnaca, Mr. Andreas Vyras, the President of the Larnaca District Organization, Mr. Angelos Hadjicharalambous, members of the AUCY Board, Dr. Marc Antoine Zabbal, Dr. Tarek Sadek, Mr. Christos Karas, Mr. Joe Ibrahim, and Mr. Farid Haikal.
The event officially started during the afternoon with a live Mix FM broadcast directly from the venue, creating excitement and energy ahead of the official opening. Mix FM was later honored on stage by Dr. Marc Antoine Zabbal in recognition of the station’s support and partnership for the event.
The entertainment program then officially commenced with a live performance by DJ Doros, followed by an honoring ceremony presented by Mr. Joe Ibrahim. Shortly after, Dr. Marc Antoine Zabbal delivered the official opening address of AUCY Day 2026, welcoming guests, students, families, and members of the public to the University’s Founder’s Day celebration.
During the evening, Peter Kypri, widely known as “The Cypriot Smurf,” was honored on stage by Dr. Marc Antoine Zabbal before the audience enjoyed a live performance by artist Giorgos Vassiliou. Following his performance, Giorgos Vassiliou was honored by Mr. Farid Haikal in recognition of his participation and contribution to the success of the event.
The atmosphere intensified with the spectacular Justice Show Fire Show performance, creating one of the most energetic moments of the night before internationally recognized artist Mente Fuerte took the stage in front of a massive crowd of attendees. Following his performance, Mente Fuerte was honored by Mr. Christos Karas.
The official honoring ceremonies continued throughout the evening, with the Mayor of Larnaca, Mr. Andreas Vyras, being honored by members of the AUCY Board, followed by the honoring of the President of the Larnaca District Organization, Mr. Angelos Hadjicharalambous.
Popular content creator and performer OnlySkillz was also honored during the event by Mr. Christos Karas before artist Sasa Basta delivered an energetic live performance that further elevated the atmosphere of the evening. Sasa Basta was later honored on stage by Mr. Joe Ibrahim.
DJ Doros then returned to the stage, maintaining the momentum and vibrant atmosphere before internationally acclaimed artist Hovig delivered one of the most anticipated performances of the night. Following his performance, Hovig was honored by Mr. Farid Haikal.
The celebration continued after midnight with another outstanding performance by the Justice Show Dance Team, followed by a live appearance and performance by George Nakhel, who was later honored by Dr. Tarek Sadek before the event concluded with a final DJ Doros performance that kept the audience engaged until the end of the celebration.
The event was hosted by Ms. Andria Ioannou, who guided the audience through a night filled with nonstop entertainment and memorable moments.

The combination of international and local performers, the massive crowd turnout, and the vibrant atmosphere transformed the Municipal Amphitheater into a celebration of culture, youth, and entertainment.
The event succeeded in strengthening the connection between the University and the wider public while showcasing the diversity and spirit of the AUCY community.
Following the remarkable success of this year’s celebration, AUCY Day is expected to continue as an annual tradition and one of the leading university festivals in Cyprus, reinforcing the University’s commitment to culture, youth engagement, creativity, and community involvement.
