Η Λάρνακα αναμένει χωρίς ανταπόκριση!

Στο πλαίσιο της στρατηγικής της Κυβέρνησης για προσέλκυση σημαντικών επενδύσεων και υλοποίηση έργων στρατηγικής σημασίας για την Κύπρο, στρατηγική που η ίδια διαφημίζει συστηματικά το τελευταίο διάστημα, είναι με λύπη και έντονο προβληματισμό που παρατηρούμε ότι απουσιάζει μια σαφής προσέγγιση για το σημαντικό έργο της Μαρίνας και Λιμανιού της Λάρνακας.

Με αφορμή πρόσφατα δημοσιεύματα και συνεντεύξεις σχετικά με την κατάθεση ολοκληρωμένης πρότασης για την επαναφορά της ανάπτυξης του Λιμανιού και της Μαρίνας Λάρνακας σε πορεία υλοποίησης που παραμένει σε εκκρεμότητα εδώ και αρκετό καιρό, οφείλουμε να επισημάνουμε ότι η Κυβέρνηση εξακολουθεί να επιδεικνύει αδικαιολόγητη αδράνεια.

Υπενθυμίζουμε ότι οι τοπικές αρχές και εμπλεκόμενοι φορείς της Λάρνακας είχαν επανειλημμένως καταβάλει προσπάθειες για επανεκκίνηση του έργου, το οποίο κατέχει όλες τις απαιτούμενες άδειες, χωρίς ωστόσο να υπάρξει οποιαδήποτε ουσιαστική ανταπόκριση από την πλευρά της Κυβέρνησης.

Με γνώμονα το Δημόσιο Συμφέρον, καλούμε τις Δημοτικές Αρχές και την Κυβέρνηση να προχωρήσουν άμεσα με την λεπτομερή εξέταση προτάσεων για αναβίωσης του έργου, με στόχο την υλοποίηση μιας μείζονος σημασίας ανάπτυξης για την Λάρνακα αλλά και για ολόκληρη την Κύπρο.

Larnaca Awaits — Without Response!

Within the framework of the Government’s strategy to attract major investments and implement projects of strategic importance for Cyprus—a strategy it has been systematically promoting in recent months—it is with regret and deep concern that we observe the absence of a clear approach regarding the important project of the Larnaca Marina and Port.

In light of recent publications and interviews concerning the submission of a comprehensive proposal aimed at putting the development of the Larnaca Port and Marina back on a path toward implementation—a project that has remained pending for quite some time—we must point out that the Government continues to demonstrate unjustified inertia.

We remind that the local authorities and relevant stakeholders of Larnaca have repeatedly made efforts to restart the project, which already holds all the necessary permits; however, there has been no substantive response from the Government.

Guided by the Public Interest, we call on the Municipal Authorities and the Government to proceed immediately with a detailed examination of proposals for the revival of the project, with the aim of implementing a development of major importance for Larnaca and for Cyprus as a whole.
