Sunday Afternoon Sessions with Demi Consta

As a child Demi always had a flare for music, her parents would always say her appetite for music was voracious. Realising their daughter had a leaning towards music they had her study classic guitar, music theory and singing from a very early age.

Her appetite for music remained constant as she grew older. In her free time she would spend hours in record shops spending what little money she had on her precious hobby.

The turning point for Demi was her first contact with electronic music; it blew her away. This new sound, one that she had never been exposed to in the past was like nothing she’d ever heard before. It contained all the elements of the music that she had grown to love but at the same time was an entirely different beast. She developed a huge passion for this new sound that rapidly became an all consuming obsession. As her insatiable appetite grew so did her electronic music collection and as a result the only logical progression of using that music to DJ became a reality.

In 2014, her first year of DJing Demi has taken her home country of Cyprus by storm. Starting with a weekly slot at popular lounge bar/restaurant Sushi La within just a few months she had gigs all over the island and even locked down a residency at Cyprus’s #1 venue, Ammos Beach Bar.

In 2015 Demi is still a resident at Ammos but has gone over and above reaching phenomenal heights; this year alone Demi has played opening sets for Tube & Berger, Jan Blomqvist, Dennis Ferrer, Aeroplane, Echonomist, Adrianos Papadeas and heavyweight Solomun. To top it off, 2015 has seen Demi play her first international gigs playing at 1 of Athen’s hottest nightspots Terrazza – Gazi and 1 coming up on the 25th November 2015 at Dabbous – Gazi

Influenced by African beats, Latin sounds, Trippy vibes, Melodic House, Tech-House & Techno Demi manages to create a seamless blend of varied sounds that is clearly defined as her own. Her sound is adaptable to all circumstances, from a banging party to a chic & classy lounge. Demi is without a doubt the island of love’s hottest export, watch this space and you’ll find out why.
